Unlike many states, we provide much more than Highway Patrol duties. The NMSP has the statewide authority to investigate and enforce criminal statutes, motor vehicle statutes, and administrative statutes. We are a division of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, and offer a number of specialized units for advancement, including Special Operations, Special Investigations, and a Motor Transportation division.
